The Fussy Baby Site
I have a passion for helping parents with fussy babies. When I see a screaming baby out in public, it's all I can do to not run over, give the mom a hug, and say, "I've so been there! It will get better!".
My second child, now 3, cried almost constantly. We had no idea what was wrong with him, and the constant screaming was draining and exhausting for us (not to mention for him). When he was 5 months old, I felt strongly that I needed to help other parents going through the same thing. That's when I started The Fussy Baby Site (formerly FussyBaby.ca).

There is so much misinformation out there about the possible causes of colic and infant fussiness: Overstimulation, milk protein allergy, acid reflux, stress in the home, gas pain...and the list goes on. Sometimes one or more of these may be the cause of excessive crying, but research shows that's not usually the case.
I started this site in 2007, and it has definitely changed and grown over the years. My primary goal was (and is) to provide support for parents who are dealing with a fussy baby. However I have also seen a need to provide reliable, research-based, and expert advice on the causes and treatments of colic and fussiness.
In March of 2009 I set out to interview the top experts in the field of pediatrics, sleep, and infant fussiness, in order to make The Fussy Baby Site the go to site on colic and infant fussiness.
Huge thanks to Harvey Karp, Marc Weissbluth, Mary Sheedy Kurcinka, Linda Budd, Jack Newman, and Edith Kernerman for their time and the thoughtful insights they provided.
Please feel free to navigate around the site. I have tried to make the site as user-friendly as possible. You can browse through the topics using the navigation bar above, or enter a search term in the box to the right.
If you'd like to connect with other parents, you can join our Facebook group by clicking on the link in the right sidebar. It's a private group; that means you must join the group in order to see the posts. Because it's a members only group, your privacy is protected.
