I recently came across a site which detailed characteristics of a fussy, high need, spirited baby. It was a revelation! Word for word my daughter, now 10.5 months old.

She is our first child and I am blessed to be able to be a full-time stay at home mum - the trade off is my husband is out of town for weeks at stretch now for work so sometimes I feel prettymuch like a single mum.

I feel so relieved to read about others similar experiences.

My little one is so demanding it's come to her sitting on my lap while I pee happily playing with the toilet paper roll or else screaming and hitting my legs trying to climb up only lap! This isn't every day but often she's tired since she refuses to nap without a major struggle and some days it's easier to just go out for another stroller cruise/people watch than to deal with crying. Her volume modulation is well... I have never heard any other baby yell as loud as her at all our baby groups Smiley

Anyway I am pleased to find a place with others that have similar experiences. It's hard to do much online unless she is asleep and short sporadic naps are my only chance to clean oreat so.... Smiley

Welcome!! I'm so glad you found us.

Your daughter definitely sounds like she fits the description of 'high needs'. I too remember using the bathroom and having Sammy clawing at my legs to be picked up.  And the volume you describe - that's Sammy too Smiley He still TOTALLY doesn't have the hang of the whole 'inside voice' thing, even though he's almost 4.

I hope you find some info and support here that's useful. You are definitely not alone!!

I was just about to post my own introduction when I saw yours... my 7month old son is on my lap right now pulling the toilet paper roll (although I came into the bathroom to browse the computer because I thought the novel environment might be more entertaining for him... not working too well now as he is screaming his head off).  Good luck with yours!

I've done the bathroom thing! LoL. I do it at home a lot and out in public sometimes too though I wear him in a wrap or a sling a lot of the time. I get some funny looks coming out of the bathroom stall at the mall or someplace with my son strapped to me in his sling. One lady was bold enough to ask why I did just set him down or hand him off first unless I didn't have anyone with me ?? I just pointed to the happily sleeping baby (he had fallen asleep about .05 seconds before entering the bathroom) and mentioned that he didn't do the quite thing all that often so why disturb the peace?

Oh, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one taking my baby along to the toilet for me! A few times I've done the 'crazy toilet dance' because I've tried to put off going to the toilet to try soothe my baby then giving up and taken her with me. Tongue
