For Parents

I have a passion for helping parents of fussy, colicky or high need babies and toddlers.

When I see a screaming baby out in public, it’s all I can do to not run over, give the mom a hug, and say, “I’ve so been there! It will get better!”.

My second child, now 12 years old, cried constantly.

We had no idea what was wrong with him, and the constant screaming was draining and exhausting for us (not to mention for him).

When he was just 5 months old, I felt strongly that I needed to help other parents going through the same thing. That’s when I started The Fussy Baby Site (formerly FussyBaby.ca).

Since 2007, I have written countless blog posts, both here and for Huffington Post, and have interviewed many leading experts in the field (including Harvey Karp, Mary Sheedy Kurcinka, and Marc Weissbluth).

I am also the author of The Fussy Baby Survival Guide, Sleep Training and High Need Babies, and Everything You Need to Know About Colic (and nothing you don’t).

Early in 2017, I decided to return to school, and am now working on my masters degree in Family & Human Development, specializing in parenting and high need kids.

I also run two Facebook support groups with almost 40K members (a baby group and a toddler+ group)…so you can get support any time of the day or night!

In addition, I have taken training in the CPS (Collaborative and Proactive Solutions) model for parenting challenging kids. This model has had a huge impact on how we parent our son, and on the support and advice I give to parents of spirited kids.

Parenting Consultations: Parents of Fussy Babies or High Need/Spirited Kids, 0-5

If you’re looking for more individualized support for your fussy baby or spirited child (ages 0-5), I offer one-to-one coaching via email or Skype, and periodically offer group training via Facebook. Please reach out to me if you’d like more information on any of these options!
